Antivirus: “Ghost Girl” Goes Online

Panda Software, the European leader in the IT security industry, announces a new Ghost Girl Trojan (Trj / GhostGirl).

This malicious code enters the computers of its victims in a file with an unusual Gfg icon.exe (106,496 bytes in size). When the file is launched, a Trojan is activated that quietly installs itself on the victim’s computer. The user can feel the presence of the Ghost Girl on his computer due to the periodic appearance on the monitor of the image of the “ghost”. Under the influence of “otherworldly forces”, the infected computer starts to open the CD compartment for no reason. To run every time the system is rebooted, the Trojan makes several entries in the Windows registry.

Panda’s antivirus solutions find and neutralize the Ghost Girl virus. To do this, it is recommended to update the anti-virus databases on the company’s website. For more information about the Trojan, see Panda Software’s Virus Encyclopedia.
