New 750 MB Zip Drive from Iomega

Iomega today announced the next generation of its Zip Series drives with the 750MB USB 2 Zip Drive.0.

According to the company, two main reasons are driving buyers of Zip drives: ease of use plus the security and reliability of the media. Due to the clever design, the Zip disk cannot be scratched, the disk can be password protected at the hardware level.

New 750 MB drives from Iomega are backward compatible with previous generations of media, can read 100 MB Zip disks and read / write 250 MB Zip disks.

Shipping of the new Iomega Zip 750MB drives has already begun, with a suggested retail price of $ 179.95; MSRP 750MB Zip Drive – $ 12.49 per unit (also available in packs of two, three, eight and ten).

A FireWire version of the Iomega Zip 750MB drive will be unveiled at Apple Expo Paris in September for a suggested price of $ 199.95.
