MDR-EX71SL and MDR-EX51: new series of mini headphones from Sony

Sony plans to begin shipping the advanced MDR-EX71SL and MDR-EX51 series headphones in February.

The MDR-EX71SL series is an updated version of the MDR-EX70 headphones and will be available in black (B) and white (W) housing. The updated version, according to the company, uses neodymium magnets, improved acoustic performance and slightly changed the directional pattern. Headphone cable length – 0.5 m, 1 m extension cable supplied. Earphone diameter – 9 mm, declared frequency range 6 Hz – 23 KHz, impedance 16 Ohm, sound pressure – 100 dB / mW, maximum power 100 mW, weight 4 grams.

The MDR-EX51 headphone series will be available in three identical models in different colors: gold-red (N), blue (L) and gray (R). Headphone diameter 9 mm, MDR-EX51LP version comes with 1.2 m cable, MDR-EX51SP version comes with 0.5 m cable, declared frequency range 6 Hz – 23 KHz, impedance 16 Ohm, maximum SPL 100 dB / mW, maximum power 100 mW, weight 4 grams.
