Jan 21,  · Certain NVIDIA graphics cards users have complained about an issue with the graphics while in excessive use. During use, the the screen blacks out for a while and comes back with a popup which says “Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode driver, has stopped responding and has successfully recovered”. For those having this issue with any GPU of the 8XXm series, the driver is not listed as a compatible driver for any of those cards according to Nvidia (), I don’t know why we got the update, but I was unable to use my GPU until I downgraded to driver , now it’s all back to normal. You just have to go to Device Manager, open your GPU’s properties and make Windows re-install an older driver . Nov 11,  · After that the crashes returned I am using 2xm cards in SLI (also no proper SLI profile from nvidia either) which are enough to run the game at fps on low-med mix. Now the game regardless of what mode fullscreen/windowed borderless/windowed border doesnt last more than 5 min tops before driver crashing. Not overheating.

3D Ziptronix Chips: An Alternative to SoC?

Remember, Intel recently introduced their 3D transistor, which had three drains to better amplify current and save power from the power supply? However, not only Intel is indulging in three-dimensional integrated circuits and their elements. Ziptronix, a subsidiary of Research Triangle Institute, Announces It Has Created Technology to Create 3D Chips.

Using the Ziptronix approach, you can combine logic devices with memory or analog modules, install RF filters in analog circuits, or bundle silicon or germanium modules into chips made from III-V materials. In addition, Ziptronix technology allows chips made using significantly different manufacturing processes to be connected, placing them at a distance of several microns from each other.

Technological details are not yet available, it is only known that the process of attaching the chips is carried out at room temperature, using a chemical composition, the action of which is similar to the use of glue. The developers at Ziptronix claim that the bond strength is almost the same as the ultimate strength of silicon.

To ensure the connection of the electrical contacts of two chips glued into one, they are carefully aligned before connection, and after gluing, the chips are processed in a five-step process, during which conductors are applied between the electrical contacts.

The company is confident that the approach of combining several chips into one will most likely be used in future microprocessor and PC architectures, since the clock frequency of the processors will be so high by the end of this year that it will be inefficient to use the memory bus. The cost of applying chips to one wafer is about $ 500, which, according to the technology developers, is almost half the price of currently developed system-on-chip (system-on-chip), to which Ziptronix technology can be a real alternative (if we ignore the scattering problem heat and energy consumption).
