Researchers at the University of Minnesota report that they were able to develop a technology for creating nanoelectronic circuits using the unique mechanism of chemical bonds inherent in DNA molecules. Scientists have succeeded in creating a prototype of a memory element in which clusters consisting of several gold atoms behave like one-electron memory cells.

Among the unsolved problems for the implementation of the production of memory elements is the control of DNA molecules during their crystallization. It is expected that in the future, when this and some other problems are solved, the technology of using DNA chemical bonds may become one of the ways to manufacture nanoelectronic chips.
