Microsoft launches new volume licensing program

Microsoft CIS announces the launch of a new Multi-Year Open License program targeted at small and medium-sized businesses. This program allows you to purchase licenses for the following Microsoft software in installments:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional Upgrade.
  • Microsoft Office Professional.
  • Microsoft Core Client Access License (a set of CALs for accessing Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint Portal Server, and Systems Management Server).

Organizations can purchase Multi-Year Open Licenses for the entire set of listed products at once (the so-called “Multi-Year Open License platform”) or for any individual products. The Multi-Year Open License has Software Assurance, which gives the customer the right to use all new versions of licensed products released during the term of the agreement. The customer can also use any previous versions of the products, and in the case of the operating room
by the system, this right extends not only to the operating systems Windows 2000 and Windows NT, the continuation of the line of which is Windows XP, but also to Windows 95 and Windows 98. After signing the agreement, the customer receives the appropriate set of distributions, and when new versions of products appear, additional distributions with updates.

The licenses are paid in equal installments over three years, and after the end of the agreement, the customer can renew it and pay only the Software Assurance cost (i.e.e. only the cost of updating to new versions).

There are two types of Multi-Year Open Licenses: MYO Enterprise and MYO Volume. Under the MYO Volume agreement, the client can purchase licenses for any number of computers (at least five). MYO Enterprise is designed for organizations that choose the Microsoft platform as their corporate standard. A prerequisite in this case is the licensing of the entire fleet of existing computers (except for those on which it is impossible to install any of the licensed products). Customers entering into an agreement on this option receive the most favorable price terms.

Detailed information about the Microsoft Multi-Year Open License volume licensing program can be found on the website of the Microsoft Representative Office in the CIS in the section “Buy.
