Hynix prepares to enter the NAND flash market

According to reports from Taiwan, Hynix Semiconductor intends to debut this year in the NAND flash market, where Samsung Electronics and Toshiba are currently most confident with 80% of shipments.

According to distributors of memory products, Hynix is ​​currently testing its NAND flash and is already sending pilot batches of chips with a capacity of 32 Mbit, 64 Mbit and 128 Mbit to potential partners. In the second half of the year, according to preliminary data, the company plans to present its first chips with a capacity of 1 Gbit.

NAND flash and graphics memory are likely to be Hynix Semiconductor’s two main pillars this year. Compared to the conventional DRAM market, these sectors are less competitive and profit margins are generally higher.
