Kodak recalls DC5000 Zoom digital cameras

Kodak Today Announces Recall of Nearly 75,000 DC5000 Zoom Digital Cameras Sold. Reason for recalling cameras – possible electric shock while using them.

Camera owners should, as usual, stop using cameras and send the machines for free inspection and repair.

Currently, the company’s website has a page where residents of different countries can find useful information for themselves on how to contact a Kodak representative and send a camera for inspection and repair. DC5000 recall started following reports that 12 camera users were electrocuted when replacing batteries, plugging in / unplugging a memory card or USB cable. True, there have been no reports of serious consequences yet.

All DC5000 cameras have a plate on the bottom of the case that shows the Kodak product identification number “KJCAA” and the next eight-digit number. Cameras with serial numbers from 01800001 to 11700825 are subject to recall.
