Hewlett-Packard Introduces the ProLiant BL40p 4-socket blade server, expanding the company’s portfolio of 1, 2, and 4-socket blade models. The HP ProLiant BL40p Blade server is powered by 1.5 GHz – 2.0 GHz Xeon MP processors with 400 MHz FSB and is designed for systems that require multi-processor support and SAN connectivity, such as large enterprise application server arrays, systems messaging, CRM and ERP systems.
In addition, HP also announced a new generation of HP ProLiant BL20p G2 servers that can connect to heterogeneous SANs and are based on 2.8 GHz Xeon processors with 533 MHz FSB. The next generation of HP ProLiant BL20p blades provide a solution for terminal server arrays, web hosting, e-commerce and streaming media services.
