Canon USA unveils new PowerShot S45 digital camera to replace previous PowerShot S40.
Canon PowerShot S45 is equipped with 1/1.8-inch 4-megapixel CCD sensor with a maximum resolution of 2272 x 1704 (3.8 million. pixels eff.), 3x lens (F2.8 – F4.9) optical zoom, 3.6x digital zoom, 1.8-inch LCD display, DIGIC digital processor, supports 9-point AiAF autofocus system (as opposed to 3-point in PowerShot S40), nine modes for setting white balance, etc. The camera uses Compact Flash Type I / Type II flash cards (including Microdrive) as storage devices, a 32 MB Compact Flash Type I card is included.
Canon PowerShot S45 comes with a set of software: ZoomBrowser EX 4.0 (Windows), ImageBrowser 2.7 (Mac); PhotoRecord 1.6 (Windows); PhotoStitch 3.1, Apple QuickTime 5.0, CP-100 Print Driver 2.1, Acrobat Reader 4.0, File Viewer Utility 1.0 and RemoteCapture 2.6 (Windows and Mac), drivers for Windows XP and Mac OS X, plus, supported by previous versions of each OS. The camera is made in a silver metal case, has an improved mode for shooting video clips (up to 3 min with sound), supports Direct Print without a PC for printers of the Canon CP-100 series and some inkjet printers Canon Bubble Jet.
