Chaintech is preparing to release a family of graphics cards based on GeForce FX NV3X
DarkCrow has published excerpts from the updated February presentation of Chaintech Korea on the upcoming release of new graphics cards from the GeForce FX family (for details, follow the links from the illustrations).
As you can see, in addition to graphics cards based on GeForce FX 5800 Ultra (FX81 Apogee Edition and FX80) chips with a tubular SCHT (Super Conducting Heathpipe Technology) heatsink, 128 MB of DDR-II memory and the already familiar chip / memory frequencies of 500/1000 MHz, and also FX70 on a GeForce FX 5800 chip, with 128 MB of DDR-II memory, chip / memory frequencies of 400/800 MHz, the company intends to bring to the market at least three more varieties of cards based on chips of the GeForce FX family (so far marked as NV3X), series FX60 and FX40, both of these series will be equipped with regular DDR-I memory.
The FX60 series will consist of three different variants with 64 MB, 128 MB and 256 MB 128-bit memory, with the 64 MB and 128 MB versions being clocked at 300/550 MHz, and the 256 MB versions being 350/500 MHz. The performance of these cards implies the release of VIVO variants, but the FX40 series cards, with 64/128 MB 128-bit DDR-I memory and chip / memory clock speeds of 250/400 MHz, will be equipped only with a TV-out and, in all likelihood, will be solutions based on GeForce FX versions for the mass market.
Well, let’s wait for these cards to appear. It is difficult to think about the performance of these solutions yet, however, the prices for these cards will most likely be acceptable for a mass buyer.
