RSA Security optimizes its code for AMD processors

RSA Security company, widely known in the cryptographic technology market, announced today the beginning of cooperation with AMD in the field of software development for modern Athlon and future processors on the Hammer core.

RSA Security cryptographic software will be optimized specifically for AMD Athlon, and in the future for 32- and 64-bit programs running on Opteron. This is a serious claim for a large share of the market for corporate systems that require a high level of data protection, which is most effectively achieved by hardware support for certain parts of the algorithms, but optimizing the code for AMD processors is also a good option.

The terms of the agreement, of course, are not known, but it would be interesting to know what Intel is going to do in response to AMD’s cooperation with RSA Security.
