DDR-III takes shape

Last week’s JEDEX conference in Beijing revealed the first timid news of the start of work on draft specifications for the next generation of PC memory – DDR-III SDRAM.

The most preliminary characteristics of the new DDR-III SDRAM specifications describe in general terms the linear bandwidth of the chips at 800 Mbit / s, with a subsequent increase to 1.5 Gbit / s.
