Intel PXA800F processor (Manitoba), officially
Intel officially announced smartphone processor, formerly known under the working name Manitoba, in Asia. At least Reuters reports this event with reference to its Hong Kong office. Since there is no information about the new chip on the company’s official website yet, I had to contact various sources from Southeast Asia for details.
So the Manitoba processor found its marketing name. It will now be called PXA800F. The processor is designed for use in a new generation of mobile phones supporting content such as online games and video conferencing. The first models on the PXA800F chip are expected to appear in 2021, a large-scale market attack is planned for the first half of 2021.
The first companies to announce their intention to use PXA800F in their models were Taiwanese MiTAC and Wistron, Korean Maxon and Chinese Ningbo Bird, TCL and Legend Group.
