EDITOR—Kampala city is the main business centre and major engine of growth for Uganda.

It is important that the city is kept clean.
A healthy and clean city contributes to a healthy nation.

Kampala’s population is growing and this requires better urban planning that focuses on the requirements of tomorrow and appropriate plans for roads and drainage.

We need urban infrastructure that is well planned, and designed.
City authorities need to address the problems of pollution, encourage construction of energy-efficient buildings, eco-friendly practices, planting trees and preserving green belt zones. All residents should have access to basic services.
